HOUSE OF HOPE

Houses of Hope serve as vital connectors between families, caregivers, and medical teams, enhancing the coordination of care. They provide a safe and supportive environment where children and their families can stay before, during, and after surgery at referral hospitals. While a bed and shelter form the foundation of their services, Houses of Hope go far beyond basic accommodation.

The first priority at Houses of Hope is to educate parents about disabilities and possible treatments, ensuring they are well informed and empowered. Families participate in a range of empowerment activities to enhance family well-being. These include disability awareness, preventive health education, knowledge of legal rights, psychological counseling, income-generating skills, rehabilitation, CIC training, and participation in the SHIP Passport program. Families also receive nutritional and public health training, and whenever possible, assistance with social insurance enrollment.

Houses of Hope partners closely with support groups for spina bifida and hydrocephalus, welcoming these groups to utilize their facilities and resources. Through these collaborative efforts, Houses of Hope are not just places to stay—they are nurturing spaces where families gain skills, knowledge, and confidence to face their challenges and secure a brighter future.

The House of Hope is Located in House number AK 217 3032,

2 Brandon Street – Abrepo Highway, Kumasi.

The distance from the house location to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital is about 15 minutes driving distance.
