ABOUT MABEL BANSON

Mabel Banson is the female neurosurgeon in Ghana, West Africa. Her subspecialty is minimally invasive neurosurgery and interventional pain management, with interests in neuro-oncology, paediatrics, and neuroendoscopy. She works at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital and is a Part-time lecturer at the University of Ghana Medical School, Accra, Ghana.
She is a member of several local and international professional bodies, including the Ghana Academy of Neurological Surgeons (GANS), Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons (GCPS), West African College of Surgeons (WACS), Congress of Neurological Surgeons (CNS) European Academy of Neurological Surgeons (EANS), International Society for Paediatric Neurosurgeons (ISPN) and the International Federation of Neuroendoscopy(IFNE).
As a young Neurosurgeon, she strives to promote Neurosurgical Training and Services in Ghana and make a significant contribution to the growing global neurosurgical community through education, advocacy, and research. She also ardently pursues mentorship.
She is also a clinical researcher with interests spanning neuro-oncology, neurotrauma, implant infections, and hydrocephalus/spina bifida.
